The OpenWrt developers announced the third release candidate of OpenWrt, codename Chaos Calmer. OpenWrt 15.05 Release Candidate 3 Uses Linux Kernel 3.18.18 LTS. OpenWrt is a Linux distribution for embedded devices, like routers.

According to the developers "Instead of trying to create a single, static firmware, OpenWrt provides a fully writable filesystem with package management. This frees you from the application selection and configuration provided by the vendor and allows you to customize the device through the use of packages to suit any application."
