For those that missed it, S2 Games has made their Heroes of Newerth title go free-to-play. No longer does it cost $30 USD to buy the game, but it's free, which is S2's attempt to expand the game's user-base.

If you're not familiar with Heroes of Newerth, there is a native Linux client, which S2 Games says is a huge success after we had given away thousands of keys.

Heroes of Newerth is a science fantasy, action real-time strategy and is inspired by Defense of the Ancients game. This game was originally released last May, but then re-released on Friday under the new free-to-play model.
