Optimizing Performance For Intel OpenGL On Linux
For those OpenGL application and game developers seeking to optimize their program's performance for the Mesa hardware drivers, and more specifically the Intel HD Graphics support, here's some very useful information.
Ian Romanick of Intel's Open-Source Technology Center presented at SIGGRAPH a few weeks back on optimizing / performance tuning for Intel "GEN" (HD Graphics) on Linux.
Romanick shared on his blog, "The presentation was a brief overview of performance tuning graphics applications... games... for the open-source driver on Intel's GPUs. This is a collection of tips and suggestions that my team has gathered from tuning our driver for shipping apps and working with ISVs like Valve. I'm already working to improve the slide set, and I'm hoping to present something similar at GDC. We'll see how that turns out."
