Hello, open gaming fans! In this week's edition, we take a look at GPUOpen, Mad Max on Linux speculation, and new games out for Linux.

Linux community buzzing over GPUOpen release

The Linux community was abuzz over the release of GPUOpen, a set of software tools for game development and graphical optimization. A GameCrate article called the release AMD's open source answer to NVIDIA Gameworks.

In the official release announcement published January 26, AMD's Nicolas Thibieroz writes, "There is still a vast amount of graphics performance still untapped, and it's time to explore smarter ways to intelligently render those increasing numbers of pixels. 'Opening up' the GPU is how we solve this."

GPUOpen's source code is available on GitHub.

Mad Max to be released for Linux

The hugely popular Mad Max game may be released for Linux platform. SteamDB entries were changed recently, fueling speculation that the game will be released on SteamOS and Linux afterall. However there is still on official word. Read the whole story here.

Rememoried

Rememoried is an exploratory first-person adventure game, where memories change to dreams and the only possible way is forgetting, which becomes a mechanism for proceeding to the next layer of dreams. Check it out at the Steam store. And, here's what Gaming on Linux had to say about it:

Rememoried looks quite beautiful in places looking at the shots, and it definitely appeals to me as a star gazer and space lover. However, it's also a bit of a walking simulator like a lot of adventure games.

Tropico 5 — Complete Collection
