Time is right for Linux PCs to emerge
Yes indeed, boys and girls. You know it and I know it. Looks like the world (outside of the knuckleheads foaming at the mouth to jam XP onto the XO) is catching on, too. I'm sure that Microsoft hopes this is just an April Fool's joke, but it's not. It's a mainstream article noting that hot little machines like the Eee are Linux boxes and that several Amazon top-sellers are penguin-powered. One very thoughtful line from the article (are you listening OLPC?): Windows XP is available on scaled-back PCs like Intel's Classmate, but it's unclear what will happen after Microsoft soon stops selling XP to the general public. |
