Glitch afflicts critical MS patch (Security Update Broken)
John Layden writes: "Microsoft has warned enterprises of glitches involving a security update issued last week. A patch designed to fix a flaw in Windows middleware components (MS05-051.mspx) creates system instability in environments with modified Access Control List (ACL) settings."
Today, Alan Yates of Microsoft will make a presentation to the National Association of State CIOs explaining how Open Source practices are inferior to Microsoft's. How unfortunate for Mr. Yates if someone in the conference reads the news. - Ed.
