What investment does Yahoo have in Linux? None that I can see, yet they bothered to port their popular chat tool to Linux. Shouldn't Google have done this?

It's a good thing when a company like Yahoo pays attention to Linux. From what I can see, they had nothing to lose by not porting their popular chat applet, yet they did. My hat is off to you Yahoo. I have heard the rumors that you also intend to port your Yahoo Desktop Search to Linux as well. I've tried it on Windows and it works well.

This is my question. As Google drove itself to the richhouse in the Linux Limo, shouldn't they have been the one to do this? With the wealth of genius programmers they have, a desktop search tool should have already been done for Linux. See here for an appropriate rant: http://www.denverlinux.com/myfirstlinux/google.html. But hey, this is a moment to thank Yahoo.
