I don't think anyone would say that Sun had the market wrapped up in 1999. You really have to look at the history of the company from the eighties onward.

I do think it's possible to write a credible critique of Sun Microsystems, which has had its share of ups and downs, but this article is not a good critique of that.

Perhaps I should write one.

I would like to see you write one. At least you know their history. The change frorm Sun 386 to Solaris has some comedic drama to it as does the shift to Ultras. Then from workstations to servers. I'd like to see it.

This article looks pretty much like an Opt-Ed piece from someone on the radical right or radical left in somebody's blog. Ah, what? it is! Comparing Scott M. to Bagdad Bob?

Just think though, at least people have the freedom to express themselves and the freedom to disagree. That freedom has existed for about 200 years on only part of this planet.

Anyway, cjcox, I think people would like to see a credible critique.
