FOSS community is not afraid of anything but they take issues seriously like they should. The patent laws are corrupt and consequently we have to be careful not to fall into a serious situations. What this article is saying is just ignore the patents because it can't harm FOSS. This is a very wrong attitude. Never take the law lightly because, right or wrong, it is enforcible just because it is the law. It is our responsibility to stop any law that doesn't server citizens from passing. This article is advocating the opposite and I consider it to be very naive and counter productive. |
