That's been happening on and off at that site for me also.I just went there and no crash.Sometimes when you try back they have it fixed.

It must be your FireFox version or installation. I tested with FF 1.0.6 on Suse 9.3 and had no problem

No problems here, either. Firefox 1.0.6 on FC3.

On a pretty unstable* installation of Debian (testing, unstable) using FF 1.04, I can open the article without crashing FF. However, I have lost FF several times very unexpectedly the last several days, hence, I am surprised it worked (see footnote).

* Either some audio changes or an upgrade about the same time last week now forces me, in most instances, to play games just to get into Gnome. Once there I am informed one is already open with an error message.

FF 1.0.6 on Suse 9.1. I was using 1.0.5 untill last week.It would only happen with certain articles, not the entire site.Strange.

Why would any one want to use FF before v1.0.6? Haven't you guys heard about the security patch? I wouldn't keep any older versions, not even for testing.

Sure, but I have only one extension and its not the one rendering the hole.

Well ... while I still have not crashed on the article you cited, I have noticed just today that on two out of three tries my browser just vanished after hitting Source Forge with the updated Firefox 1.0.6-2 Debian. Moreover, I think this happened to me earlier using both this current browser and the 1.04 version. Nonetheless, while something odd is occurring I am not certain it is FF's fault, because I have such a strange installation with odd problems popping up and disappearing.

It's definitly not FF's fault.Source Forge was the only site it happened at and only on a few stories. And after awhile those links seemed to be fixed.
