Here's another simple reason for supporting MA's choice: http://leonbrooks.blogspot.com/2005/10/real-reason-for-massa... It's cheating a bit, because the document is full of images (which MS-Word has a nasty habit of exploding to uncompressed bitmaps), but nevertheless OOo documents are typically much smaller than MSO, which would make a big difference to storage and backup costs and performance. |
