I read the article more than one time and the guy produced a flawed article. He used four pages to say nothing of interest. He provides no empirical data, seems self-serving and generates no eye openers. I thought about writing something to rebute the article, but I cannot find anything worth discussing. As a copy editor, he would not survive the first pass. From strictly a grammatical and functional perspective, one would have to write the article again to make it readable. Then, we have the content to evaluate and the article lacks substance. I still believe we should have posted it. He provides an opportunity for us to comment on sophomoric writing. He also exposes a movement within the community where people attempt to monetize open source software without any means of doing so. |
