Greg Kroah-Hartman provides devastating arguments against the policies of nVidia, ATI and any other hardware manufacurers who try to sidestep the chosen license of the Linux kernel developers. Hardware drivers for Linux should be open and in the kernel. No rationalization of nVidia's and ATI's actions can get around the explanations of why closed kernel modules are "illegal", "unworkable", and "unethical". |
