The problem seems to have been fixed in the 2.0.x releases. I had the prerelease running and the dates got scrambled, but after upgrading to 2.0.3 it seems to work fine. Have you tried kexi? I'm having trouble getting the latest version to install, and in earlier versions, ie 1.4, csv imports don't seem to work at all. Also tried rekall, which doesn't seem to do imports.

What Linux really needs is Filemaker ported. With all its technical weaknesses, and its closed source, all the same, in terms of ease of use for non programmers, there's still nothing to touch it.
