Very good sorting the wheat from the chaff. 'Tivo could continue using the GPLv2 kernel.' Yeppers indeedy. 'If the developer chooses the GPLv3 because it's "popular", and later complains that it's "too rigid" or "political", then she chose the license for the wrong reason. ' And could then change the license. Anyone who uses a Dan Lyons piece as a reference is hopeless. But then, speaking as someone who has had to spend far too much time talking to PR twits, it's no surprise. |
