This article is not quite correct. The exploit works because the fake page is in-fact on the Myspace servers. MySpace's host-like features are exactly why this was possible. This is not near as do-able on, for example, bank websites or other "Important" sites because they don't host people's web pages for them. The security vulnerability is just as much a problem of MySpace as it is of Firefox. If you have a site like MySpace in your "trusted sites" then you should be able to trust everything on their servers. |
