"role", not "roll." It could be a typo, but I'm seeing it so often I think it's part of the New Spelling. Rule #1 of New Spelling: if it sounds right, it is.

I know that this is TC's favorite rant, but, there will always be people using a hammer as a screw driver. It's not the fault of the tool.
