>Even when you shop with a reputable vendor like Dell, you can still run into problems. The New York Attorney General sued Dell for false advertising, failure to provide services, and deceptive business practices. Attorney General Cuomo said, "At Dell, customer service means no service at all. Dell's consumers were intentionally misled, and they had to pay for that privilege." Other states may be joining the suit. In addition, the SEC has been investigating Dell's accounting practices. Dell's Audit Committee has acknowledged accounting errors, evidence of misconduct, and deficiencies in financial controls. Their 10-Q is late, which led to notification from NASDAQ about failure to comply with listing requirements. I'd say that Dell's reputation needs some work. |
