Besides the devil's advocacy arguments, de jure, that one can be sure certain members of LXer will continually bring up ;), ummm...... the actual de facto users' _PERCEPTIONS_ of the GPLv3 FUD against MS may be sure to trip up those being somehow pulled into MS's nets. Readers of this may also wish to peruse through the comments on PJ's similar Groklaw piece 'MS: Dancing as fast as it can to try to get away from GPLv3' at http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20070705205728953 The facts "on the ground" seem to indicate that actions based upon such perceptions may, in fact, be more prevalent than some would have us believe. No, this writer is not especially more aware than others what may be happening behind-the-scenes, but suffice it to write that certain perhaps-unexpected "occurrences" based upon MS's incomplete ability to spit out the GPLv3 hooks it dislikes, may indeed manifest themselves within the next few GPLv3 months (if not weeks!) Right on SJVN!! |
