Has anyone followed Larry Cafiero's story on Dell selling Ubuntu computers with so many things "broken" that it is almost non-functional? No? Then that's because he probably hasn't published it yet.

Screw Dell...We found out a week ago that Dell has absolutely no plans to solicit other hardware manufacturers to create drivers for Linux. None...Nada...nopers.

You want a Linux-Ready Machine? Go to people like Zareason.com. Their Linux machines are superb because that is all they build is Linux machines. Now I know that there are other companies who do Linux...but really folks...Earl and Cathy live and breathe FOSS.

Dell is just doing this because they painted themselves in a corner with their not-too-well-thought-out website axing us "what we expected of them."

A machine with the touchpad drivers and graphics cards working would be a start Mr. Dell.

Shop Zareason. They are cheaper, better and allow you to take apart your machine to upgrade it without invalidating the warranty.

That's right...they even ship a screwdriver with every order wrapped in a little bow.

Now how friggin' cool is that?

Zareason is here to do one thing...to show that Open Source CAN work as a business model.

Zareason has some great desktops and some cool portables. Also, check out System76 as well:
