These tutorials are a little old, but they do cover basics in Linux that are relatively unchanged.

These tutorials, along with Daniel (Gentoo) Robbin's Bash Scripting tutorials are a great way to learn more about Linux administration. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-bash.html

Then get Tuxchick's book. http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/linuxckbk/

You should already have Running Linux. http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/runlinux5/index.html

Another yes to Linux Cookbook! A great read, and very instructive and practical. Well, like everything Carla S writes.

I keep watching the O'Reilly site ... watching ... waiting ... hoping for updated versions of "The Linux Cookbook" and "Running Linux."

Carla's book still holds up, but I want MORE.

Carla's book is pretty new.

There were two editions of a book by Michael Stutz called the "Linux Cookbook" fron No Starch Press. These are older and Debian centric.

I have the 1st edition of the Stutz book as well. Good book.
