Your two last paragraphs sum it up quite nicely. Let it be added that any distribution is in 'danger' of having the rug pulled from under its feet if it doesn't please its users. Also remember that Ubuntu is 'just' Debian and someone could 'pull a Ubuntu' on Ubuntu (succeed with a fork). How about Mint? The system as a whole (and the licence) ensures peer review, oversight, and regularisation. |
