There are two issues that _will_ come up:
1. Companies will begin to say their software are "works of art", therefore their copyrights should be the longest. Think it couldn't happen? Remember that strip-club owners have fairly successfully demanded that stripping be covered under the First Amendment protection of free speech.
2. The art in software, icons and such, would be covered in the longest copyright term. If software is offered only in binary form, there is no easy way by the general public to strip that art from the binary. Granted, much of that art is found outside of the binary. How much of it is untouchable _inside_ the binary? Ugh! Loopholes. |
