Firstly for supporting Linux, and secondsly, for actually releasing an adventure game (well, hybrid). It takes moxy to release a game in an out-of-fashion genre on a platform that's not exactly in fashion. Big game developers usually don't see any value in Linux versions of their product because of the small market share, but Penny Arcade will likely sell fewer copies of their game than most of the big publishers, but still somehow saw value in packaging across platforms. Yay them! Now we just need slightly more family friendly material. ;) I was playing with some game APIs just recently in an attempt to brush up on my C++, and took my little test project back and forth from work (WinXP) to home (Linux). It compiles and runs perfectly fine on both sides. And I am a complete novice. It's not nano-physics to write portable apps, guys, c'mon. |
