lshw, lspci, lsusb, lsmod, hwinfo are all great little tools when you need to know the innards of the machine your working on/with. I use them from the command line (didn't even know there was a front end for lshw). I love the speed with which they give me the info I need. Does the machine have a Broadcom wireless nic? Do I need to install the Nvidia driver? Did the USB device register? Great to see others are latching on to all the nice little tools Linux has to offer too. |
