There were a few new tricks in there that I didn't know of, like joining two screen sessions together and looking at /dev/vtc1. Nice article. |

Yeah, I printed it out into a PDF to keep handy, very nice indeed. |

The 'print to PDF' is a wonderful trick too by the way, just managed that in CUPS. |

ibm makes a pdf available as a link on the page the article links to. They've been doing this for a few years. You can even get copies of their mainframe manuals as pdfs! The IBM green card isn't green and it isn't a card any more: http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/sa227209.pdf but it is available in pdf format. |

Missed that. Stupid! Anyway, here's how you can print PDF's with CUPS: http://www.cups-pdf.de/cups-pdf-CURRENT/README |

Yeah, I love cups-pdf.
I don't need it often, but it's great when I do. I'm even using it at the school office so the secretary can print. Win98 virtualbox session that of course can't see the shiny new printer on the vista host. So I setup cups-pdf on the server and pointed the virtual machine to that. She thinks it's pretty cool. On an odd note: When win98 prints to it using the hp lj5 ps driver, it prints in color....(of course they apparently "fixed" that glitch in some later windows version). |
