Another project, another name

Hi all,

Lately I've been working on yet another project (besides gnome-hearts, the jukebox and odf-xslt): A comment spam filter system for blogs that's compatible with SpamAssassin rules. It also does baysian filtering (based off bogofilter) and DNSBL.

I need a name for it. I already thought up "Sicarius", which I really like, but it's .com/.org domain name is taken by domain squatters (how I despise that folk). Sicarius is latin for Assassin which I thought was a nice tie-in to SpamAssassin.

I chose to mimic SpamAssassin because they have vast amounts of great filtering rules that I can re-use. But I needed a separate implementation because blog comment spam is sufficiently different from e-mail spam that I can't use a stock SpamAssassin to do the filtering for me.

So, do you have any other suggestions for a name?

Thanks in advance!

I suspect none copyrighted nor expected to be taken. I have not checked, they tend to get taken upon any interest. If you had previously checked for availability of your preferred name, wait a couple of weeks and check again. Take it immediately if it becomes free.

How about Mr Teatime pronounced Te A Tar Me, the only assassin in the known universe to have attempted the assassination of both the Hogfather and Death.

Haha, that's a great suggestion Tracyanne. I love Teatime. I even have Hogfather on DVD :-)

Well, it makes for a nice pun :-)

Deviating from it, bs-assassin could be nice as well... Thanks for the tip!

it might be the cynic in me, but the generic comment leads me to think bri might be a spammer

(i've seen too many of them on my site)

Funny way to spam, it really achieves nothing, not that spamming does anything usefull either.

@tracyanne: That's because the forum strips out HTML tags. I bet you 10 to 1 that the "Social Bookmarking" line was a link.

There's an amusing bit of irony in this thread.
