What is discussed in the article means nothing - Obama makes his own decisions, and it's a waste of time to speculate. It doesn't hurt to have Eric Schmidt as an advisor but he makes his own decisions and I doubt free software is a priority. He did push to free the primary debates, but that was simply a matter of election strategy, something that would obviously help him against a much better known opponent.

Let's hope Obama gets better tech advice from Mr. Schmidt than he got during the campaign. Whoever was the webmaster behind my.barackobama.com left the directory listings wide open, showing a list of every account's username. It exposed the mentality of a rank amateur with absolutely zero experience in info sec.
