The Che Stallman and Che Tux t-shirts take on a whole new aspect. |

We were taking a hard look at one of the videos, and while it's said that it's a Gentoo variant, It's using the Sabayon (Gentoo deriv) package manager. So it's a binary distro with Gentoo compatability, as Entropy, which one of the videos clearly shows, is a binary only package manager. Regardless, it's a win for Linux and Gentoo, but a much bigger win for Fabio and the Sabayon crew. |

Pretty frickin' amazing when you consider that it all has to be done with 50s and 60s era COBOL and FORTRAN patched together with baling wire and Bondo. There are a few goofs. For example, Cuban gcc is mostly OK, but it recognizes a PICTURE statement. |

Quoting: For example, Cuban gcc is mostly OK, but it recognizes a PICTURE statement. You mean COBOL and FORTRAN had GUIs? |

Smart move by the Cuban leadership. Good choice of base for their system too. I hope they succeed in meeting their stated goal, because that will be a win for Free Software as well. |
