I hesitate to call it Free Open Source, in spite of the License, as it depends heavily on Windows APIs, and I don't mean because it's written in a .NET language. Although the fact that it's VB.NET does tie it even more into a Windows dependency.

There is already a Free Open Source fork of .Net Nuke, called PHP Nuke.

I refer to Open Source projects that are heavily integrated into Windows APIs non Free, simply because of their dependence on Windows.

It's the other way around. DotNetNuke is a fork of PHP Nuke which is much, much older than all of .Net.

I wouldn't use either BTW. PHP Nuke (and most things derived from it) have one of the worst security track records in FOSS CMS land.

Darn it, when I saw the title I thought Duke Nukem had been open sourced.
