This is just Proofs of a Conspiracy, isn't it? I mean, IBM received help from the NSA when designing DES, and didn't admit it until much, much later, when differential cryptanalyis was RE-discovered by the non-NSA mathematicians (another case of intellectual property getting discovered independently at least twice, as is Public Key encryption).

Also, MSFT has put in backdoors at the behest of the NSA. Look up the much-loathed "NSAKEY" in Google. Then come back and tell me MSFT hasn't put in a backdoor.

It's a given that they'd deny it even if it's there. Besides, Microsoft has proven themselves so very trustworthy in the past... OK, maybe not.

Isn't Windows Update a backdoor? You know, that whole being able to push through anything they feel like to your machine at any time..even if you tell it not too automatically update...(a good reason to disable the actual services involved).

All of Windows is...

a back door

a front door

a garage door

and every window on the house

standing wide open.

Nah, they're right. Now that they're done with "netbooks", they're working on redefining other things. They DON'T have "back doors" in Windows 7. No comment on "Alternative non-frontally-facing access portals", though.

Today's Help Desk seems applicable. Not the actual comic, but the newswire running underneath it: http://www.ubersoft.net/comic/hd/2009/11/conversation-takes-...
