Comcast has a "death from above" attitude, unlike The Phone Company does. Comcast is accustomed to dictating everything to consumers: they never had a "Hush-a-phone" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hush-A-Phone_v._United_States) moment, so they've always provided *everything*. Comcast has usually blocked subscribers low-TCP ports, and had EULAs to TOS that prevented running "servers" (whatever that means). They want DSL subscribers to act like cable Tee Vee subscribers, suck it up commercials and all and can I have another sir? After MSFT, Comcast and the major media companies are going to be the biggest policy issues. |
