Don Knuth is (or at least was) an Ubuntu user. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for anyone. "I currently use Ubuntu Linux, on a standalone laptop—it has no Internet connection. I occasionally carry flash memory drives between this machine and the Macs that I use for network surfing and graphics; but I trust my family jewels only to Linux. Incidentally, with Linux I much prefer the keyboard focus that I can get with classic FVWM to the GNOME and KDE environments that other people seem to like better. To each their own." http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=1193856 |

It's a question of personality. Sheldon is a pedantic control-freak, the polar opposite of "to each their own." I doubt he would run any Linux-based system except perhaps in his Android-based cell phone, for lack of formal system verification. Or else he'd be a Mac fanboi. |
