Too many choices or too little thought?

This is what I just now posted to Eleven is Louder. It isn't a perfect and scholarly thought, but then, I am not a perfect or scholarly person (and couldn't stand myself if I were). My wife informs me that my youthful indiscretions involving substances and multiple mega decibel listenings of La Boheme affected my reasoning (just kidding, I only listened to highlights of La Boheme three or four times). Experience may be the best teacher, but it can also be the cruelest. I learned that again when I watched George Clooney in "The American" yesterday. It was good, it was going somewhere (despite a few gratuitous scenes), then it had a stroke or something. Good read. How bloody petty this all becomes. If there are too many Linux distributions then there are too many writers and too many novels, too many actors and too many movies, to many performers, bands, songs and too many communities for all of them. Of course one doesn't have to think too hard to listen to most songs, nor most times to watch a movie; a bit more to read a novel. And Linux, well, thinking may be hazardous to one's health. |

Quoting:then there are too many writers and too many novels, too many actors and too many movies, to many performers, bands, songs and too many communities for all of them And too many videos on YouTube. [Seriously, how many lifetimes one needs to watch it all?] |
