A few typed lines works better than thousands of mouse clicks.

I've used the same get-selections/set-selections when upgrading as well. I wanted to do encrypted LVM, and used the get/set to make sure that all the same package names (get/set does NOT set versions, just names) were at least _attempted_.

Anything that isn't there any more just won't be selected by name. Much of those kinds of things are covered by dependencies anyway.
