I wish we could get over the one, true editor BS (I use both), but other than that, nice article, well written, he even spells well. There's a few great tip in there that I never heard of.

I should really work on my vi skills. It's my console editor of choice, and I can hack around in it, but I don't do anything complicated.

Indeed, once I installdes somethin (think NetBSD or so?) and vi and pico were unavailable, so the only thing left was using ed.

NetBSD ships vi (the nvi version) nowadays.

That's great. Nowadays I don't have any reason to try BSD anymore I think, but it's great it's there when I want / need it!
