Not sure why I didn't know about this player until now. This is a fork of Amarok and it works very much like it, but the interface is much cleaner and resembles foobar2000 which I adore. It is more lightweight than Amarok and thanks to Qt works with OSX and Windows.

I've been a fan since 0.3. What I like about it is that it gets the album covers right with just a little work. Other players seem to pick just one cover and show it for every album-set you have and there is a ton of manual configuration you need to do to get them right. It is fairly rich in features but if you just want a simple player to assemble playlists and listen to them, I think Decibel is the best out there, hands down.

I wasn't using Decibel 0.6 because has little bugs like can not detect a folder if their names has all words starting with capital letter.

0.7 is just released and fixed that I think. It can sort library by genre and Decibel seem to be one of the very few linux audio player that is capable of sorting genre while ignoring if its lower or higher case (Rock, rock). This is a huge deal if you have big collection.

I'll have to give these a try. Media players in Linux are weird and change a lot. I'm a geezer, i just want something to play CDs or digital tracks without a lot of fuss, and that doesn't want to go crawling the Internet for stuff.
