The Death Star had the illusion of security with the supporting fleet, the cannons, etc., while actually having a huge gaping security gap. All owned by an oppressive empire. I'm guessing a Microsoft OS was involved. |

@gus3 ... and quite a number of private ones, too. The longer the chain of command, the more the levels in the hierarchy and layers in the bureaucracy, the greater the distance between the deciders, the implementers and the people "on the ground"/actually doing the work, the likelier this sort of problem is to manifest. and the less likely it is to be straightened out, until some disaster knocks the whole structure arse-over-teakettle (and the big efforts to fix the mess while it's a relatively small problem are as/more likely to make things worse as/than make them better) |
