Speaking of Android gaming

I received an OUYA for Christmas. The OUYA plays Android games and it has loads of emulators for retro gaming. I really like it. Costs under £100 and the build quality is really good with an XBOX style controller. The reviews online have been pretty poor but I suspect they were from people expecting a competitor to Sony/Microsoft than really understanding who the device is aimed at. Do I buy games? If they are good and you can get them for under a tenner then yes I will buy a game. Bombsquad, Grand Truckismo, Towerfall to name just three. I don't really like gaming on my computer, prefer to use a dedicated device. I was previously using the Raspberry PI to retrogame but the OUYA is built perfectly for it. If I was in the games development business I would be developing games that can work on Linux/Android by using the appropriate development kits. |
