This looks like Google wants to buy and then shut down Cyanogen as they provide a popular and easy to install alternative for many people who want to escape big brother Google snooping on them. |

Maybe, but they didn't care enough to do that, to offer real money. So Cyanogen Mod is really nothing more than an annoyance to them... Besides, I have yet to see a Cyanogen Mod project that didn't allow for installing a full Google Play store,... at least as a side load... And believe me, I've installed Cyanogen Mod on a few machines. I don't think Google perceives them as a bona fide threat, and I don't really think they actually represent a threat to Google. |
