MS is in decline and vendors aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot for them anymore, me thinks.

Buyer : "Mr Salesman, can I disable secure boot in your laptop ?"

D..l : "You're kidding, certainly not !"

A..s : "... don't know... will ask a techie..."

H. : "Of course, we've taken great care of your freedom !"

After cross checking on the internet and kith and kin and aliens, buyer settles for H. .

I pretty much feel like nmset. There are a lot of competitors in the world and they don't have to all offer products that appeal to me, but those who do are rewarded with my business.

It's a self correcting system.

Oh, and whenever I'm in a bricks and mortar store like Best Buy or Fry's I always ask if the products I'm looking at have been tested for Linux compatibility. This is a way that I can clearly communicate my careabouts to those who can benefit from satisfying them.

It's been 7 years since I purchased a laptop or desktop computer from a bricks and mortar store. Why would I want to pay extra for a system burdened with Windows?
