"There's a sucker born every minute." Though apparently Barnum never actually said that (http://infogalactic.com/info/There %27s_a_sucker_born_every_minute).. |

This was a very disappointing proposal. Hopefully calmer heads will prevail at the Munich city council. |

The Linux vs Windows thing appears to be something of a political shibboleth in certain German and German-speaking states, in various partisan political conflicts. And of course, certain corporate entities have a vested interest in supporting and even fostering this idiocy, simply because they are cut off from the usual, captive swine-trough (that they practically consider their due) in those jurisdictions where FOSS holds the upper hand. And there will always be a fair number of "useful idiots", from the executive management peaks to the in-the-fields work-a-day world, all too happy to parrot (and believe) the corporate framing of the alleged "issues". (Somehow, those who think otherwise, don't get heard from nearly as much -- if at all). |

Actually, I intended this to be a comment on the "Why Is Corporate Linux Welcoming Microsoft?" article, and apparently misclicked. :( I blame it on posting from a Windows machine at work. :) But it applies here too. |
