this is interesting. i knew that GNU had a relaxed attitude towards POSIX, but i thought of it more as a "GNU is better than POSIX" attitude. i had no idea that a number of POSIX features were inspired by GNU, nor that the name itself was coined by RMS. "Wait…that's GNU-specific… isn't it? Oh—not anymore, apparently." greetings, eMBee. |
