Right now, 2023-09-27, there are no less than 5 LXer headlines called "How to Install ___". And this reminds me of Paul Vixie's installation notes: "Note that if I can get you to 'su and say' something just by asking, you have a very serious security problem on your system and you should look into it." |

Good point Gus. My personal practice is to simply do installations out of the distro's repo. dnf and apt are my friends. Beyond that, I also like to do my own builds from source. Trusting some unknown third party's binary is not really in line with open source ideals, and could easily lead to a big security problem. imho |
