TimeSys Delivers 2.6-based Linux Development Kits for Intel XScale® I/O Processors
Pittsburgh, PA -- March 1, 2005 -- TimeSys® Corporation, a leader in embedded Linux® technologies and development tools, today announced the availability of 2.6-based TimeStorm® Linux Development Kits (LDKs) for the Intel IOP321, IOP331, IOP332 and 80219 XScale I/O processors for storage, telematics, security, print/imaging, iSCSI, control plane processing and customer premise equipment applications. TimeStorm LDKs include complete processor-optimized embedded Linux distributions with ready-to-run target images (kernel and root file system) and the Eclipse 3.0-based TimeStorm® Linux Development Suite (LDS). Every TimeStorm LDK for an Intel XScale I/O Processor Includes:
"TimeSys is pleased to further our long-standing relationship with Intel with the availability of this latest group of certified and supported 2.6-based Kits for developers of products based on Intel?s advanced XScale I/O processors" said TimeSys president and CEO Larry Weidman. About Intel XScale Technology-based Processors with 2.6-based TimeStorm LDKs The IOP321 features a combination of technical advancements. The 133 MHz PCI-X interface achieves up to 1GB per second throughput. The internal bus operates at 200 MHz and offers internal bandwidth of up to 1.6GB/second. It contains a 100 MHz, 32-bit local bus that is excellent for embedded applications requiring a connection to non-PCI peripheral components such as ASICs, flash memory, or DSPs. The IOP331 is a highly integrated I/O system on a chip for I/O-intensive storage, networking, communications and embedded applications. The IOP331 features an 800 MHz CPU, high-performance internal bus, dual-ported memory controller, a high-bandwidth PCI-X to PCI-X Bridge and an improved interrupt controller to provide a high-performance, highly integrated processor solution. The IOP332 is a highly integrated I/O system on a chip for RAID on motherboard and I/O-intensive storage, networking and communications applications. The IOP332 features an 800 MHz CPU, high-performance internal bus, enhanced memory controller, high-bandwidth PCI Express to The 80219 general purpose PCI processor includes a powerful combination of integrated features and is offered in either 400 MHz or 600 MHz options. It contains a programmable, 32-bit local bus that is excellent for embedded applications requiring connections to non-PCI peripheral components such as ASICs, Flash memory, or DSPs.
