Just one day after the official release of the openSUSE Leap 42.2 operating system, Michel Normand from the openSUSE Project was proud to announce on November 17, 2016, the availability of the PowerPC port.

Open Source Software: Secure Except When It Isn't

Linux and open source used to be 99% secure -- or so we thought. We laughed at the poor, hapless users of Windows, an OS that seemed to suffer a new exploit hourly. We were smug and thought ourselves protected by Linux's superior design, with security built-in and not added as an afterthought. Most of all, we thought ourselves protected by the thousand upon thousands of eyes that were pouring over the code and making sure that any vulnerabilities that snuck through were caught by the white hats long before the black hats had a clue.

Python Dictionaries

Somebody hit lists with gamma rays. Okay, so Dictionaries aren't the Incredible Hulk, but they are supercharged in what they can do. In other languages, dictionaries are referred to as hashes, associative arrays, and associative lists. It's probably best to think of them as associative lists because that's exactly what they are. Dictionaries are lists that associate two values with one another. To think of it in terms of an actual dictionary, they associate a word, or key with a definition, or value. They function sort of like a list with custom indexes.
