Sabayon 15.10 KDE Screenshot Tour
As already pre-announced, we switched the default installer. Anaconda served us well, but we decided to embrace the community-baked Calamares, the distribution-independent installer. If you don't know it, check out their website. Also if it is young and some features are missing, it is lighter and more bug-free with respect to our old installer. The KDE edition now ships the new Plasma 5 by default. Since we had to put much effort in making a working release with Calamares, we had to ditch Steam Big Picture mode and Media Center installation options.

I'm happy to announce Manjaro 15.09 (Bellatrix)! Since June we are working on this release. First thing you will notice, this release was not tagged 0.9.0 as we would have normal done. Well, we had a discussion with all developers and decided to go for date tags from now on. Also new is: we ship with Calamares as an alternative graphical installer. It is now stable enough to be used on productive systems. You can still use Thus. Also our terminal installer got some small improvements.

The Open Organization book club: Embracing friction
Igniting anything—including passion and performance—always requires a few sparks.
And making sparks requires friction. Unfortunately (as Rebecca Fernandez said last week of meritocracy), friction gets a bit of a bad rap these days. Friction indicates discomfort. It's a sign that things aren't moving smoothly. It's something we'd prefer to avoid.

Celebrating 5 years of LibreOffice
LibreOffice was launched as a fork of OpenOffice.org on September 28, 2010, by a tiny group of people representing the community in their capacity as community project leaders.
