The Wine development team has just released version 1.7.46. Wine enables Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, and OSX users to run Windows applications without a copy of Microsoft Windows.

Marvell unveiled two new Kinoma IoT prototyping mini-PCs, including a “Kinoma HD” stick running Linux and the open source JavaScript 6 KinomaJS framework. Marvell successfully launched its Linux-based $99 Kinoma Create JavaScript prototyping device on Indiegogo in March 2014, and sold it retail at $150. In March of this year, the company open sourced the KinomaJS JavaScript framework that runs on the Create, and now it has announced two new IoT-focused Kinoma devices — the FreeRTOS-based Kinoma Element and Linux-based Kinoma HD — with tempting pre-order price tags of $20 and $25, respectively. The devices ship in the fourth quarter.

Patent troll wins $30M verdict against Sprint, has more trials on the way
The jury found that Sprint violated US Patents No. 8,127,345 and 8,387,155, both of which describe methods of "managing access to protected computer resources." According to the complaint (PDF), filed in 2012, Sprint's Simply Everything Plan and Everything Data Plan are both methods of "controlling access to Sprint’s protected network resources," and thus infringe the patents.

I watch a lot of movies and television series, and since The Matrix, I was never amazed by a TV show, or movie until today. Mr. Robot changes that for me, especially that now I work with GNU/Linux operating systems and I've used all sorts of desktop environments.
