Python 2.3.3 will shortly be available on stable x86. This is an important message for people who are upgrading from Python 2.2.x. As a result of the upgrade, you will need to run the following command _after_ Python 2.3.3 has finished merging:

/usr/sbin/python-updater

This script will find all the Python modules that are installed against Python 2.2.x and automatically re-merge them. Any errors or failed merges will be reported at the termination of the script so you can review any problematic installs.

As usual, please report bugs at http://bugs.gentoo.org/.
