Cloudius Touts Open Source OSv for Container Virtualization Optimization
Cloudius says its open source OSv operating system, which can boot in less than a second, is better for the cloud and container virtualization than Linux, OpenStack and Docker. Would containerized virtualization à la Docker work better if it didn't depend on the Linux kernel? That's the question startup Cloudius Systems is asking as it promotes OSv, a competing open source operating system designed specifically for the cloud. (Hint: Its answer is "Yes.")
